The Clash Of Titans!

I played rugby in the weekend.I play for Marist. We versed Te Papa Titans. We played at our home club.  This was our eighth game this season. Te papa lost to the four teams that we beat.

Once I got to the field, we had to run to the goal post and back for our warm up. While I was running, my calf stung and so I walked instead of running to the post. My coach told me to stretch out my foot and it worked because it didn't sting after I stretch it.While we were warming up, I saw my friend who was also playing  for Marist but he is in a different team. His name is Siu. I have another friend that plays for Marist and he is in my team, his name is Cameron. Siu and Cameron goes to my school and they are in my class.

It started raining, so our coach told us to run around the field. It was pouring with rain. When we were running around the field, we saw two Te Papa players and my coach asked them “Where is your coach?”. They They replied, "We don't know". So my coach said “When you find him, tell him that we are playing here”. When they found their coach, we did our cheer and started the game.

After we kicked off, we chased the ball and tackled the person that had the ball from the other team. Then we turned the ball over and passed it wide to the fastest player in our team, Sione. Sione ran down the field and fended off a lot of people but was tackled near our try line. Then I passed it wide to my rugby mate Oli and ran to score the first try. We kept on scoring but they scored as well, They scored about two tries in the first half and we scored around five.

In the second half, Cameron passed the ball to me and I ran to score another try. I wouldn’t have scored if it wasn't for my friend Cameron.

Both teams kept on scoring and the final score was 50 to 25.We won and we were graceful winners so we gave them high fives. Good on you Te papa. What a game we had. I can’t believe Sione didn’t score, but maybe next time he will. I think it was because he didn't have enough space.

Lets go New Zealand!

“Hurry up dad, I can’t wait to get to the game!” I felt so excited that I found it hard to contain myself. The game was at North Harbour Stadium and it is the quarter finals. New Zealand under 20’s will play in the semi-finals in the Junior World Cup against South Africa. This is going to be a very tough game!

We had to pick up my papa, my rugby mate Sione and my Godfather as they were all going with us to the game. While we were waiting for them to get ready, Sione and I got on the trampoline and Sione did a back flip and a Swanton Bomb. I was very impressed that he could do it like a professional!

A short while later we got into my godfather’s car. It was very cool because it was very flash and it has a sunroof made out of fiberglass. When we arrived there Sione and I went to the front seat and watched it from there. The New Zealand game hadn't started then.It was England versing Ireland for a semi final spot. England beat Ireland but I did not know what the final score was.

After the England versus Ireland game, Sione and I went to the back to watch the under 20s training. There was a security guard at the entrance of the changing rooms. After we had a look at the changing room's entrance and the under 20’s practise, we went back into the crowd and went to the entrance to wait for the players to come in.

It took a long time for the players to come out but it was worth the wait, because Sione and I got high fives from all the players including Tevita Li, Me and Sione's favourite player that is in the Junior World Cup this year.

Sione and I played Touch and I scored a good try. I chipped and chased, I caught the ball on on the full and put it down and scored. Sione scored a good try by stepping past me and running really fast.

The New Zealand under 20’s team lost by one try and one conversion.
Good try New Zealand, you played well and better luck next time.

Fantastic netball games at AMI netball centre!

On Wednesday, the school netball team went to a tournament at AMI Netball centre.

Our first game was against Tamaki Primary. We drew with them on one all. My teammate from my rugby team was in the other team. His name is Kurtess. Kurtess scored the only goal in our game together.

In our second game we versed Bailey road. We lost, but we were getting better because we had warmed up from the first game. The score was 4-1 to Bailey road. It was a good game and we are starting to know where our positions are.

The third game was against Stonefields. We lost by 2 points. The score was 7-5. We were doing well by staying on-side.

The fourth match was against Point England. I was on the sideline. Point England scored four points in the first half, but we came back in the second half by scoring 5 points. However, they went on to score another 2. The final score was 6-5. It was a very close game.

We versed Saint Pius in our final game. However, there was a twist, they forfeited the game so we had an automatic win. That was an awesome day!

The Team consisted of:
Aiden, Cheska, Lasike , Launoa, Patelesio Kayla, Siu, Philomena,Jayviah and Shannon
