The Maori Warriors of rugby!

All Blacks VS North Harbour and Northland
After a good Friday at school, my dad and I went to the fish and chip shop. The fish and chip shop was in Botany next to the sushi go round. We ate the chips in the car and we had the fish when we got home. My dad and I needed to get ready to go the All Blacks friendly game against North Harbour and Northland. The game had three halves with 40 minutes in each of them. In the first half, the All Blacks  versed North Harbour. In the second half, they versed Northland and in the third half North Harbour versed Northland.
My dad and I had to go to my uncle’s house. We left at 4 o'clock. The traffic was busy, so busy that we were going as slow as a turtle because we were only travelling at 20 kilometres an hour. We would have been able to get there in 20 minutes if it wasn't for the traffic. We got there at 5:10pm which meant that  my dad and I were in the car for an hour and ten minutes.

No one was home so we waited and waited until my uncle finally came because he got stuck in traffic as well. My cousin Devon gave me a whole block of white chocolate. We had to pick up Mark, my uncle’s cousin as well. After we picked up Mark, we left like Flash from Marvel superheroes.

When we got to North Harbour Stadium, we got our tickets and went in. I ate the chocolate and gave some to my dad and my uncle. It was raining really hard at the game. Luckily I brought two jumpers and my dad brought his umbrella. The final score in the North Harbour game was 41 to nil to the All Blacks.

The final score against Northland was 19 to 7 to the All Blacks. I hope the All Blacks play like that against Australia in the Bledisloe Cup next Saturday because the Australian team plays very well and trains really hard.

Title: Making The Team

Author: Feterika Sao

Illustration: Leilani Isara

Publisher: Learning Media Limited

Setting: On a field

Main Character: Ruby

Secondary Character: Mum, Dad and Wesley

Basic Plot: Ruby wanted to make the rugby team but she doesn't make the team, so her dad and mum cheers her up.

The most interesting aspect is that she wouldn't get up and work harder because I thought she looked like a strong girl that wouldn't give up.

My Saturday Night!

During my weekend I went to the Sacred Heart Concert.  It started at 7.00 but we had to be there at 6.45. There are lots of performances in the cobncert. There were ice cream, lollies, chips, desserts and drinks.

We started off with the year 7 and 8 band. They had the trumpets and the euphonium. They did two songs and both of them were really great because they sounded really classy. What a start to the showcase.

Next it was two boys singing. They sang counting stars by OneRepublic. They sounded just like them. They were all in their formal clothing. I know I would be in a night to remember. They had another Sacred Heart boy doing the electric guitar.

After that my brother was performing because he is in the year 7 and 8 ukulele band and they sang freedom of life by Sophie Clarkson. There was also a piano that was involved with the performance. There were lots of kids in the group. They sounded beautiful.

Then it was the jazz band. again they had the trumpets and euphonium. They sang Valarie by Amy Winehouse. They sounded amazing and they actually sounded like a professional singer.

We didn't get to watch the rest because we headed off to have some dinner. For dinner, we had a family pack at McDonald’s. I loved every last bite. We ate our food and left to go to my grandma and papa’s house to watch the Super Rugby final.

My Grandma’s neighbours came over to watch as well.  The New South Wales Waratahs took on the Canterbury Crusaders. The Waratahs scored a try in the fourth minute. The game was so action packed because of all the tackling from the players. The Waratahs got the heads up leading 20 to 13 by half time. When the second half started, the Crusaders came back with a try and a lot of penalties.

Go Crusaders!Go! The final score was 33 to 32 to the Waratahs. Better luck next time Canterbury. They won because Bernard Foley scored a penalty goal.

We also watched the Netball semi finals in the Commonwealth Games. The Silver Ferns played England and won by one point and the final score was 35 to 34.

My Saturday was so fun that I could go back in time and do this all over again.
